Dieu Donné Vineyards
Wine Estate, Franschhoek
Many of the wine farms in Franschhoek have French names after where the original owners came from. There are two exceptions and Dieu Donné is one of them. Dieu Donné, meaning a ‘gift from God’, or ‘God given’ is situated high on the eastern slopes of the valley and boasts magnificent views as born out by the accompanying sunset image.
Their wines are limited to two ranges plus a sparkling MCC (Methode Cap Classique, following the original French production process) and are regular award winners.
In 1993 their Chardonnay was judged Trophy Winner at the International Wine Challenge in London, essentially the best in the world at that time. Visitors may dine at the very popular Roca restaurant while taking in the spectacular scenery. Maison Montagne offers luxury guest accommodation.
